Cory Lingner
Cory was born and raised in Indianapolis and started dancing at the age of four. But, it became evident that not only did his passion for dancing grow, so did his love for singing and acting. Many years later, he went on to receive a BFA in Musical Theatre Performance from the University of Oklahoma. After working professionally at several regional theaters during his college years and receiving his Equity card the summer after his graduation, he made the big move to New York City to pursue his dreams of performing on Broadway.
Thankfully, it didn’t take long for his dream to come true. Cory made his Broadway debut in the 2014 revival of “On The Town”. After “On The Town” closed the following year, he was cast as The Jester in the first off Broadway revival of “Once Upon A Mattress”, which he received an Astaire Award nomination. Next up, he joined the Broadway company of “An American In Paris”, followed by being in the original Broadway company of “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”. Cory was last seen on Broadway in the 2018 revival of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “Carousel”. He also got to revisit his past Broadway productions by doing an international tour of “An American In Paris” as well as the 1st national tour of “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” in 2019.
Cory has also gotten to perform on the Tony Awards, Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, Saturday Night Live, Good Morning America and the TODAY Show.
Post Pandemic… Cory performed regionally in LA as well as in the heart of Wine Country in Sonoma, CA. Cory also originated the role of Charlie in the off Broadway New York premiere of Hoagy Carmichael’s “Stardust Road” with York Theatre Company. Cory also toured Japan for four months performing a show called “Disney on Classic” with a 50 piece orchestra. In 2024, Cory performed one of his dream roles as Bert in Mary Poppins with Lyric Theatre OKC as well as making his Drayton Entertainment debut as Bill Calhoun in Kiss Me, Kate in Ontario, Canada. Speaking of debuts, Cory made his Carnegie Hall debut with Mastervoices’ production of George and Ira Gershwin’s “Strike Up The Band”.
